Walk and Talk Tour – 28th May 2025
Join Elizabeth and Hayley on this free Heritage Walk and Talk Tour, departing from Cheltenham Community Centre, as a part of South Australia’s History Festival.
Witness how Stobie pole art elegantly connects the past and the present, thus transforming the streetscape into memory lane.
Hear the stories behind the artworks, including those dedicated to individuals who found their final resting place at Cheltenham Cemetery.
Date: 28th May 2025
Time: 9am-11am
Location: Meet at Cheltenham Community Centre, 62 Stroud St North. The walk will then take us through backstreets of Cheltenham, past vibrant poles painted by local residents, and down to Cheltenham Cemetery where we will walk the perimeter, discussing the artwork subjects on the Stobie poles surrounding the cemetery.
Cost: FREE (refreshment included, courtesy of Cheltenham Community Centre).
