Our Story

During lockdown, I decided it was time our Cheltenham Streets were more colourful, and we should join the other City of Charles Sturt suburbs with decorating our Stobie Poles.
Luckily, a little time later, I met a willing neighbour, Michelle Hargreaves, who felt the same way and we decided to make it happen, with the collaboration of artist, Chloe Bower. Local historian, Susie Coombes, who leads WEA cemetery tours, gave us of lots of stories for artwork images.
In the next stage of the project, we aim to raise enough funds to pay for artists and materials to complete the project, with artworks on the poles along Chippenham Street, Cheltenham Parade, Woodstock Street and on the two Port Road bus shelters.
