Elijah Vartto is an artist who works with spray paint and guillotined metal shapes as abstract or depicitive works. The works are built up in layers striving to find form in the imperfection of torn edges. Past experiences of building experimental instruments from industrial springs, and exploring the world of analogue sound synthesis, have given a guiding map to the visual art that is now produced; with noise, colour and darkness, all being used in sparsity, and at times maximalism, for creation of miniature worlds in sound and vision.
